Strawberry Jello Pretzel Salad

3/4 cup butter
3 Tbsp brown sugar
2 1/2 cups crushed pretzels (9 0z pkg)
Mix and bake in 9x13 pan at 350 for 10 minutes. Cool.

1 (8oz) pkg cream cheese
1 cup sugar
1 (4 1/2 oz) tub cool whip
Cream and spread on pretzel layer.

1 large pkg strawberry jello
2 cups boiling water
1 lb frozen sliced strawberries (not thawed)
(or two 10 oz. cartons of frozen strawberries)
Mix and let set in refrig. for 5-10 minutes. Pour over cream cheese layer and refrigerate until jello is set. (It usually takes at least two hours)

I have started to pour the jello onto the cream cheese layer with the pan already in the refrigerator. It is much easier, as I have had several spills moving a full 9x13 pan. Also, I sometimes misjudge how much space you need for a pan like that. So my advice is put the pan in the frige, hold a towel under the strawberry jello bowl, and slowy pour it over the cream cheese layer. Let it set for at least 30 minutes, then cover with tin foil until you are ready to serve it. Enjoy!

Sounds interesting...can you use other fruit or berries?

I don't know. I'm thinking it would be good with cherries and cherry jello. Certain fruits can't be used with jello, so you would have to check the box. Let me know if you find a good combo. Don't they make cranberry jello now? That would be interesting, too.
