Another Idol

Another season of American Idol is over. Although Chris should have won, I'm glad it was Taylor and not Kat (sorry, Kat, but you forgot the words to two songs! Come on, girl. But your "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" was truly wonderful).

The highlight of the two hour show, though, was not the very cool performance of Prince, which would shock you if you knew me in high school and knew just how much I loved the Purple Rain album. No, the best part for me was Mr. Clay Aiken.

The way he came out and sang with that very scary boy who claimed to be the next Clay but who really can't sing well and is not boyishly cute but rather SCARY, and if you saw the show, you know that he peed his pants with the excitement of being on the same stage as The Clay Aiken. (I would!) But Mr. Aiken was all class, singing with Scary Boy like he was just another Idol finalist and deserving of a duet. Classy. The hair in the eyes is not really doing anything for me, but the suit was nice. NICE!

So, American Idol, I'm glad you are over because now I have more free time to knit. I hope to not get lulled into watching another season, but we shall see what September will bring. Those tryouts are just too tempting . . . .

Agreed on all counts.

Prince was scary.

Chris should have won.

And we had to rewind the Clay segment twice to figure out who the heck that even was because his hair was so different. And the Clay look-alike was not cute.

Best duet was the strange pairing of Katherine and Meatloaf. But I thought it worked.

Loved Carrie Underwood.

I wish there had been Prince night. I would like to hear Chris sing "Purple Rain" and maybe Mandissa "When Doves Cry."

The other annoy poster is not me, btw, even rhough sometimes I say "Ai ya!" too

Oh and one more thing...

Loved the "Puck N Pickler" bits. We were laughing hysterically. She doesn't even realize how funny she is. Her innocence is simply priceless.

Overall, I actually thought last night's finale was the best of all the previous seasons. I was actually entertained.

Jon, I can tell which anon.posts are yours by the way you write - it's very 'you'. Plus, I know you knew it was Clay, so the first post must be another family member. :)

K, yes, Carrie Underwood IS my favorite idol. And could she be any prettier? She is just beautiful! Stuart loved the Puck N Pickler scenes, but The Pickle is just not a favorite with me. She's too much like Jessica Simpson.

I'm glad it was Taylor too.

I actually missed the final! SHEESH!

Oh well.

I missed the finale, too. I was at rehearsal. I didn't set my VCR because I don't really like Taylor OR Katherine McPhee very much.

And I meant to say "anony" not "annoy" above. Tami never annoys me.

Ai ya!

I love Taylor. I was touched and thought his final song after winning was great. I can't wait till it is released and on itunes. I think "Do I make you proud" will be played at as many ceremonies, graduations and weddings as Michael W. Smith's friends for years to come.

I thought Chris should have won, but I would have never bought one of his CD's. Now, the soul patrol I can get behind.

I don't particularly like Kat, but I thought she sang and performed better during the finale than she had all season. Maybe the pressure was off?
