I finished it! This picture makes the yarn look like DayGlo Craziness, but it is really very nice yarn. I should get a pic in sunlight and see if that looks better. But isn't the little mini-poncho so so cute? And the asian doll! Her name is Playful Patti. I know you are jealous. And Sally is "sporting the front pony", her own hair creation which she loves and her Dad encourages with great enthusiam.

you owe it to your future Sheila...
Do you remember those dolls that you can order to look just like your kid? I saw a catalog once. The prices are sky high. But, you can get a replica of your kid with matching clothes and everything. Very creepy.
Sheila, I love the Sally poncho and dolly poncho combo! Is that knitted or crocheted? Did you ever get into the 'macrame' kick in the late 70s? And I love the delightful colors!!!
KMJ, Sally's poncho is crocheted by her great grandma. Her doll's poncho is knitted by me. I never did the macrame thing, but my mom did. We had lots of macrame flower pot hanging things around the house. Fun times.
I need a side view of the ponytail. I think the front view is beautiful. I LOVE the way it frames her face. Adorable.
I know you don't like it and I can't see "the problem".
The Front Pony Rocks!!!!
Alison, I am coming around to liking the front pony. When she first started doing it, she would not let me help, so she'd have a pony hanging down in the middle of her forehead, with lots of wispy fuzzy hairs sticking up all around. Or it would stand straight up. She's consented to let me assist, so I can get it to the side (out of those beautiful eyes!) and a bit neater. At first, my concern was she would get teased, because she looks goofy. But this concern was totally unnecessary! Either the other kids think she's cool, or she just doesn't care what other people think. What a girl.
