Teddy Bear Cookies

Here's the recipe for the teddy bear cookies. Very fun to make with kids. I put out a ruler for them to get the right size of balls, but after a few measurements they just went for it. They all tasted good :)

Peanut Butter Teddy Bear Cookies

1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
1 cup creamy peanut butter
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 egg
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 tsp baking soda
(1/2) tsp salt
72 mini chocolate chips (more or less, as you see fit)

In a large mixing bowl, beat the milk, peanut butter, vanilla, and egg until smooth. Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt; add to peanut butter mixture and mix well.

For each bear, shape dough into one 1 in. ball, one (3/4) in. ball, six (1/2) in. ball, and one (1/4) in. ball. On an ungreased baking sheet, flatten largest ball for body. Use next size for the head. Use the six for ears, arms, and feet. Smallest one is for the nose. Use chocolate chips for eyes and belly button.

Bake at 350 for 6-8 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool on baking sheets.

This is from a Taste of Home's Quick Cooking magazine from 2002.

No - we looked for her but didn't see her. Still, so much fun! I'm even starting to watch soccer on tv!
